History of the Estonian Centre of Folk Culture

The Estonian Centre of Folk Culture was created under the name Estonian Folk Culture Development and Training Centre on October 1, 1994 by the merger of the Training Centre for Cultural Workers and the Folk Culture Development Centre. It started operating in the building of the Training Centre at J. Vilmsi 55, while the name was taken from the Development Centre.

From January 1, 2012 to March 31, 2020, the institution was named the Folk Culture Centre.

From April 1, 2020, the institution is called the Estonian Centre of Folk Culture and is located in Viljandi at Leola 15a.

It is nice that we can rely on the good deeds of our worthy predecessors.
